My brother never approaches a girl first. He thinks that if the girl is interested she should come up to him. I told him that girls normally aren't that aggressive and wait for the guy to make the first move but he said he will still wait.
Do you think that its a new day a new time and women should go after what they want or when it comes to certain things women still are stuck in the old traditional roles?

I've got no shame in going after the guy, there's no reason why traditional roles can't be broken in today's modern society.

I think it's what you feel comfortable with. If you're the type that goes after what you want, then that's great, and if you're more traditional and wait for the guy to make a move, then that's okay too.

im kind of in the middle. i don't like to go up to guys first but if they show interest i may take it from there. its hard because you don't want to come on too strong like youre desperate but you don't want to pass up a good thing. micah did make the first move but i've been making it ever since.

I kinda think the man should be the one to make the first move. First off (my own personal opinion here) if he makes the first move it proves to me that he is no sissy boy and has the guts to go and persue what he desires. They miss the excitment of the chase if they are too lazy to ask the girl or whatever. Besides, if a girl asks a guy if he'd like to hang out, in the guys mind she is making a move when in reality the girl in question might just be asking to be nice as a gesture of friendship and nothing more. I'm considered old fashioned in my ways and thoughts on this matter as well as others. Women have a place and purpose as do men. I like chivary. Respect. Heck, I think I was meant to be a teen in 1955 seeing as I seem to be out of date in my thoughts, ideals, and opinions. The only guys I've met that I consider to be men unfortunately live in the south. I live in the north. A girl making the first move is kinda innapropriate in my own personal opinion. Smiles and glances, being friendly...all fine. Nothing wrong with that.
