What tips can you share for writing a CV/job application etc?

Don't lie
List hobbies
List qualifications
Include at least two people who can (and will) give references for you
Keep it up to date
Check for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors
Don't joke in what you say (eg. a CV my dad was reading last week for a teaching post said (and I quote) in answer to "why left last post" question "couldn't be expected to control a riot...felt like I was on Jerry Springer")
Use a professional like email address (eg. said candidate above had the email which included "*NAME*sayswibble"
