stop loss is real simple, take me for example, when i sighned my contract with the military,i sighned up for three years......but what i actually sighned up for was 8 years.......three years of active duty, and the rest as irr,or inactive reserve....during that time......they have the authority to call me back at any time they deem it necessary that they need me,stop loss is simply when my active duty time is up,and they still have a need for me,then they can extend my active time instead of leting me go,and calling me back very shortly afterwards, understand?

Yup, i completely understand. What you sign for is active, but you have an obligation to them for 8 years. I've learned a lot about the military. So what was the problem with the movie, without giving it away.

thats why i was asking if anyone had seen it........i have a feeling from what ive seen and heard that it sells the military up the river by picturing them as a bunch of nazis trying to screw our guys over......it happened to me,and all the guys in our unit, but we sucked it up and kept truckin, cause no matter how much it sucks, deep down your proud to stand there and say''yea, thats right i did it''........i dont know of many soldiers who would actually fight it,its pointed out to you on your contract, and you know what your getting into

But the military is different too. Years and years ago, you could just do your active time, and do the rest in reserves, but when you sign up now, you have to know that you may be called back. But there are some who enlist and think that they won't be deployed. some of the recruiters have filled their heads with unrealistic things.

They wanted my brother to drop out of college, and enlist so it would be paid for him. They call every week.
