I've watched one match (LA Lakers vs Atlanta Hawks if I remember correctly) and seriously, all they seemed to do was stop the game! Anyone care to enlighten me as to why basketball stops every 5 seconds?

Could be traveling, which is walking without dribbling the ball, could be a foul, could be a jump ball, could be a time thing. They only have a certain amount of time to get a shot off.

I cheer for basketball, and I still don't know why.

I don't think it's the dancing skill, it's more of how they look.

yea i agree with Dee. all the timeouts and the fouls. especially at the end of the game and its a really close game the team losing personally fouls to stop the time.
i love basketball and its the sport that i am most passionate about and most competitive
