Twilight is actually an AMAZING book. It is really addictive - once you get into it, you will not be able to put it down. It's being made into a film at the moment too It is the first of a series, there is Eclipse and New Moon also, and another new one called Breaking Dawn coming out this summer. I highly recommend you read it - its brilliant!

I found this on the internet which just about sums it up:
Bella Swan has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and Bella decides to go live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Most importantly, he's a vampire! Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood (they're vampire "vegetarians"), which is rare among the vampire population. For Edward, Bella is the thing he has waited ninety years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. And what will they do when James, Laurent, and Victoria come into town and James sets his sights on Bella? Will true love prevail when Edward is forced to save her life and conquer his thirst?

This is so much like the short story Jay wrote that it's scary. I told him it was a weird idea back in 2005.

My plan is to get this book to read it on vacation. Then I'll report in how I like it.

So I'm totally readingthe series right now. I read the first book in less than eight hours and I got them last night from a friend. I'm currently a bit over half way through the second one, and I like them. The second book did make me cry in the beginning.

It's A LOT better if you have read the books because a lot gets left out. I watched it with my mom, and had to keep explaining things to her.
