What are your views on owning this breed of dog?

I see no problem with it. It's the owners who make the dog who they are.

I think any dog is scary, but putting that aside... It's just another dog. If someone chooses to own it, so be it.
Why.. are they finding something out about them?

People tend to agree that pitbulls are vicious dogs, but not all of them are. I've met pitbulls before that acted like any other well-behaved dog. It's all on the owner.

Dogs like that are usually because of poor training or they are raised that way. Personally, I would love to own one!

They say that it's the pit bull breed that is dangerous, and not the owner. That some owners are surprised that their dog who has been a great dog with their family, would go attack someone.

Probably lack of socializing. Like I said its all on the owner and how the owner raises it. The media only point out th flaws of these breeds which is really saddening. A lot of my uncles are pit breeders and trust me they are one of the most loyal and caring breeds I've seen. Plus, Bull breeds are among the top scorers by breed in standardized temperament tests.

There still seem to be a lot more attacks from them. If you take those same owners and give them a different breed of dog, and they socialize them the same way, will those dogs also attack, probably not. Now if the pit bull needs special training and more socialization, then that's because of its breed.

I think they're banned here, or at least some kind of dog with bull in its name is. Wouldn't ever have one, was chased across the park by ne when I was 7 and haven't been near a dog since

They're called a "nanny dog" for a reason.

i don't like any dogs and least of all pit bulls. I wouldn't trust any of them no matter how friendly the owner says it is.
